Credit Unions voted Number One for Customer Experience
For a record-breaking 11 years, credit unions have topped the league table for best customer experience in Ireland, according to the 2026 Customer Experience Insight (CXi) Report.
Credit unions recorded an outstanding CX score of 8.16, comfortably exceeding the 8.0 benchmark for customer experience excellence. This compares with an average score of 6.91 across all organisations surveyed.
Credit unions are the only brand to have maintained a constant presence in the top ten since the survey began, a testament to the consistency of their CX excellence.
Commenting on the survey, David Malone, CEO of the Irish League of Credit Unions said:
"We are delighted that credit unions have once again been recognised as Customer Experience Champions. This award reflects the strong relationships credit unions have built with their members and local communities over many years, and the dedication of staff and directors across the movement.
"The real strength of the credit union model is that members remain at the centre of everything we do. Whether it's introducing new services or supporting people through important life moments, the focus is always on helping members and serving communities.
"As people's needs and expectations continue to change, credit unions have embraced new technology and new services without losing the personal touch and community focus that members value so highly."
The CXi Survey is published annually and is based on a survey which is carried out by Amarách Research. This year’s survey ran from June 8th to the 31st July 2026. A representative cross section of Irish consumers was asked to give feedback on their experiences with 170+ companies across 11 sectors.
A huge congratulations to credit union staff members and volunteers across the country on this incredible achievement.
